Robin Tarter, 2nd year (School of Nursing)

As a nurse researcher and PhD student in the OHSU School of Nursing, I would be honored to represent my colleagues on the Graduate Researchers United Bargaining team. OHSU School of Nursing has a rich history of paradigm-changing research and continues to produce scholars who push science forward in the fields of health equity and holistic, patient and family-centered research. In order to meet the great need for nursing educators, scholars, and policy-makers, our PhD program must be able to attract and nurture students from all backgrounds. Collaborative, multidisciplinary team research needs PhD prepared nurses with a diversity of lived experience and academic preparation, and it is my goal to advocate for a contract that can foster the growth of such a group of nurse scientists and parity between nursing and other health-care associated fields.
